Designer Diary #25 – Enjoy Your Work

Designer Diary #25 – Enjoy Your Work

Hey everyone! Anne here, it’s been another whirlwind week in the Trent household, and as always, there’s plenty to chat about, mostly involving Sig’s incredible brain and his latest gaming obsessions.

First off, it sounds like Sig has been absolutely crushing it with Shotgun Fantasy! He was practically bouncing off the walls this week because he finally finished the Fighter and Rogue classes. From what I gather, the Fighter is super flexible, which is classic Sig – he loves giving players options. And his take on the Rogue sounds pretty intense, more of an assassin type. He gets so into the mechanics of it all; sometimes I just nod and smile, but it’s fascinating to see his passion.

The playtest documents are SO close! He’s been tweaking them like crazy, wanting everything to be just right. I know how much he values everyone’s feedback, so if you’re a play tester, get ready!

His game design tip this week was all about enjoying your work, which I think is really important, especially for creative folks. He definitely tries to follow his own advice – I see him having a blast playing his own games (and sometimes getting frustrated, but that’s part of the process, right?).

As for me, I’ve been keeping busy on my Twitch channel. I finally finished the Room series! And Siberia 3 – ugh what a buggy game! I would have enjoyed it if it weren’t for technical issues. This week, I’ll be diving into Siberia: The World Before and a game called Quern: Undying Thoughts, which sounds right up my alley if you like those atmospheric puzzle games. Come hang out if you’re looking for some chill gaming!

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

– Anne
