Designer Diary #6: My Week Watching SigTrent Games

Designer Diary #6: My Week Watching SigTrent Games

Hi everyone, Anne here. This week has been a whirlwind, as usual, and I wanted to share a little peek behind the scenes from my perspective, inspired by Sig’s latest video update.

The biggest news around here? The HERO sheets are FINALLY out! It was so exciting to see those first sales come in. Honestly, finish this first product and then actually start selling it has been a huge morale boost for him – and for me! A massive thank you to everyone who has bought a set; you’re truly supporting his dream. I’m really hoping the sales earned will help us get some great art for our next project. If you haven’t bough SigTrent Game’s Hero Sheets you can get them here:

It’s also been fascinating to hear him talk about the game design process. The other day, while I was researching small business fundamentals, and it got me thinking about the core of what he does. His explanation of the three pillars of a role-playing game – Inspiration, Statistics for Entities, and Rules for Resolution – was so insightful, even for someone who mostly just enjoys playing the games! It gave me a whole new appreciation for the thought that goes into creating these worlds we love.

On the home front, it’s been a bit of an adjustment with Sig starting his new job. I’m so incredibly proud of him for stepping outside his comfort zone and taking on something new. He mentioned it was a tough first week, and I definitely saw how tired he was. But he’s been such a trooper, and it sounds like he’s finding his groove now, especially enjoying connecting with the customers. That’s the Sig I know – always ready with a kind word and a helpful hand.

Speaking of kindness, he also talked about the importance of supporting each other and spreading positivity. It’s so true! Seeing the wonderful feedback and support you all have given him for the character sheets has been amazing. Those little gestures really do make a difference.

Finally, he touched on White Day. It’s such a fun tradition we have, and even though he had to work on the actual day, I’m looking forward to our “Off-White Day” adventure to see that new sci-fi clone movie (Mickey something? I can never keep those titles straight!) and just having some quality time together. It’s always nice to have a little extra excuse for some romance and good food.

So, that’s a little glimpse into our week from my side of things. It’s been busy, exciting, and full of the usual Sig-isms! Make sure to check out his video for all the details, and if you haven’t already, maybe grab a set of those character sheets we’ve worked so hard on!
